Reflective practice is key to integrating best practice into day-to-day work. Without opportunities to reflect on our interventions and the extent to which they align with best practice, it is not possible to develop and strengthen services.
Based on decades of combined experience working with (the impacts of) interpersonal dysfunction we are often able to match services to specialised support that is informed by Motivational Interviewing. Currently support is provided to staff in services working with individuals who have caused severe harm to intimate partners, with stalkers, and with individuals with complex needs.
The support we offer includes:
- Regular external clinical supervision. Supervision is usually offered to a whole team and can combine individual and group supervision. The approach tends to be client-centred with a focus on effective self-care, client support, risk management, team dynamics, and inter-agency collaboration.
- Clinical management support. More hands-on support with clinical management, for example by (remotely) attending regular team case review meetings and/or multi-agency case reviews.
- Deep Dive sessions, where we facilitate an in-depth reflective immersion in the challenges faced in the day-to-day work. These sessions can focus on reviewing particularly complex cases, especially where there are challenging mental health or other support needs, that impact on behaviour change and/or risk management. They can also focus on complex systemic issues, or broad topics that currently impact on the daily work. These sessions typically combine training and reflective practice.
